Great opportunity: we are hiring a hand presser in Fremont County, Iowa. You will be based in a tailoring workshop. On a typical shift you will press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; give each garment a final press before packing. What we are looking for: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine Pay around $4,000 per month, based on your experience.
