Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. The job is in a heavy machinery workshop. You should have: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles Day-to-day duties: • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
