Join our team: we are hiring a rough terrain crane operator in Merced County, California. You will work at a container port and shipping yard. What we are looking for: • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination • Understanding of hand and radio signals • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging On the job you will handle: • Follow hand signals and radio calls from the banksman or slinger • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
