Steel fixing chargehand wanted in Windsor County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Windsor County, Vermont. You will be based at a rebar fabrication workshop. Day to day you will set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
