Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Tipton County, Indiana. You will work at a busy fabrication workshop. The role involves run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
