What we are looking for: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium Your main tasks: • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. $250 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
