Requirements: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams The role involves: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
