On a typical shift you will measure parts with vernier calliper, micrometer and go/no-go gauges; top up coolant, lubricant and hydraulic oil levels; load raw material and feed stock into the machine hopper; follow lockout-tagout before cleaning or clearing the machine; key in cycle parameters such as speed, feed rate and temperature; record output, scrap and downtime on the production sheet.
