Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska. The job is on a commercial tower construction site. Your main tasks: • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine Ideal candidate: • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level 5+ years on the tools preferred. Meals and transport allowance provided. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
