Now hiring: machinist (Maryland)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a machinist in Calvert County, Maryland. You will be based on a ready-made garment production line. Your main tasks: • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line What we are looking for: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. $10,500 per project, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
