Vacancy available: we are hiring a sample machinist in Barnsley, England. The job is on an export house sewing floor. On a typical shift you will stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required. Requirements: • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate.
