CO2 welder • Amherst County, Virginia

Immediate opening: we are hiring a CO2 welder in Amherst County, Virginia. You will be based at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. Day-to-day duties: • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence Ideal candidate: • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings Pay around $2,700 per month, based on your experience. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
