TIG welder wanted in Kodiak Island Borough

Great opportunity: we are hiring a TIG welder in Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska. You will work in a stainless steel kitchen-equipment unit. Ideal candidate: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard The role involves: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
