Sample machinist • St. Helens, England

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sample machinist in St. Helens, England. On a typical shift you will change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go. Ideal candidate: • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory 1+ years on the tools preferred.
