Vacancy available: steel fixer (Texas)

Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in Nueces County, Texas. You will be based at a rebar fabrication workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
