Argon arc welder — Plymouth

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon arc welder in Plymouth, England. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. You will read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise. Requirements: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift.
