Now hiring: we are hiring a machinist in Clay County, Indiana. You will be based in a sampling and tailoring workshop. Requirements: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Day-to-day duties: • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
