Sheet metal welder — Allamakee County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Allamakee County, Iowa. Day-to-day duties: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal Ideal candidate: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety 4+ years on the tools preferred.
