Garment machinist — Antrim County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Antrim County, Michigan. You should have: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus Day-to-day duties: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
