Vacancy available: we are hiring an occupational health and safety officer in Giles County, Virginia. Ideal candidate: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills The role involves investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports; inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
