Fire and safety officer • Story County, Iowa

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Story County, Iowa. The job is on a road and infrastructure project. You should have: • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills Day-to-day duties: • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action 2+ years on the tools preferred.
