Ladle pourer — East Renfrewshire

Immediate opening: we are hiring a ladle pourer in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. On the job you will handle: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
