Immediate opening: we are hiring a crane operator in Prince George County, Virginia. The job is in a warehouse fitted with overhead cranes. The role involves: • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Keep every lift within the safe working load (SWL) • Grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block Requirements: • Able to read load charts and lifting plans • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts Rotating shifts.
