Now hiring: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Newaygo County, Michigan. You will work in a hotel or restaurant butchery. The role involves: • Vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date Ideal candidate: • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers 3+ years on the tools preferred.
