Site safety steward — Southampton County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a site safety steward in Southampton County, Virginia. You will work on a road and infrastructure project. On the job you will handle: • Stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date • Carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift • Update the risk register and method statements (RAMS) • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry Requirements: • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Pay around $31 per hour, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
