Laundry presser • Isles of Scilly, England

Vacancy available: we are hiring a laundry presser in Isles of Scilly, England. You will be based in a garment export house. You will use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics. Ideal candidate: • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment Pay around £1,900 per month, based on your experience.
