Great opportunity: we are hiring a safety officer in Washington County, Vermont. The job is at a manufacturing plant. The role involves run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry; inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; deliver site induction to new workers, subcontractors and visitors. Requirements: • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Minimum 2-3 years on construction or factory sites 2+ years on the tools preferred.
