Now hiring: we are hiring a concrete finisher in Saint James Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a ready-mix concrete plant. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at heights and on scaffolds • Hands-on with poker vibrators, power floats and concrete mixers • Willing to wear safety boots, helmet and full PPE On the job you will handle: • Mix concrete to the specified grade (M15, M20, M25) by hand or in a mixer • Lay PCC blinding and the damp-proof membrane over the prepared subgrade • Carry out slump tests and cast cubes for the lab • Cut control and expansion joints at the correct spacing • Erect and align timber and steel shuttering before each pour Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Walk-in interviews this week.
