Restoration bricklayer wanted in Alleghany County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a restoration bricklayer in Alleghany County, North Carolina. You will be based at a renovation and extension job. The role involves: • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints What we are looking for: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks Rotating shifts.
