Requirements: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection On a typical shift you will weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing.
