Great opportunity: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Cumbria, England. Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection The role involves check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Pay around £17 per hour, based on your experience.
