Vertical transportation technician — City and Borough of Wrangell

Great opportunity: we are hiring a vertical transportation technician in City and Borough of Wrangell, Alaska. You will work in a residential tower block. On the job you will handle: • Set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear • Test buffers, final limit switches and the emergency brake • Wire up the controller, encoder and limit switches • Carry out planned preventive maintenance and grease the guide shoes • Measure rope tension and check for broken strands You should have: • Ability to read electrical and wiring schematics • Good head for heights for pit and car-top work • ITI in electrical/mechanical or an equivalent trade certificate 2+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours. Meals and transport allowance provided. $27 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
