Reinforcement steel fixer — Allamakee County

Now hiring: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Allamakee County, Iowa. You will be based on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. The role involves: • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length You should have: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling Full-time with occasional weekends.
