Requirements: • Skilled with multimeter, test lamp and diagnostic scanner • Steady hands for soldering fine connections • Able to work under the dashboard and bonnet for long periods Day to day you will trace and fix short circuits and earthing faults; programme keys and reset immobilisers; solder and heat-shrink wiring joints; install alarms, immobilisers and central locking; replace ABS, oxygen and crankshaft sensors; diagnose electrical faults using an OBD-II scanner.
