Now hiring: we are hiring a brick mason in Mathews County, Virginia. Your main tasks: • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools 5+ years on the tools preferred.
