You should have: • Sound knowledge of gas safety regulations and pressure testing • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Clean, methodical and safety-conscious You will check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray; fix pipe clips, brackets and wall sleeves and sleeve pipe through walls; thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant; carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply; braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints.
