Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Greene County, Ohio. You will be based at a precast concrete yard. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates Your main tasks: • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
