Bar bender and fixer • Clayton County, Iowa

We are recruiting: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Clayton County, Iowa. You will be based at a high-rise construction project. Ideal candidate: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing The role involves: • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing 5+ years on the tools preferred.
