Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixer in Clay County, Minnesota. The job is on a busy residential building site. Day-to-day duties: • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder You should have: • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire 4+ years on the tools preferred.
