Foundry operative • Charlevoix County, Michigan

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Charlevoix County, Michigan. On the job you will handle: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch You should have: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Full-time, day shift. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
