Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Jim Hogg County, Texas. The job is at a stainless steel fabrication shop. What we are looking for: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) You will select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters.
