Steel fixing chargehand — Dutchess County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Dutchess County, New York. You will work on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. Your main tasks: • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations 5+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $3,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
