Great opportunity: lifting rigger (Alaska)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Haines Borough, Alaska. You will be based at a container port. You should have: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Your main tasks: • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks 2+ years on the tools preferred.
