Immediate opening: we are hiring an abattoir worker in Shelby County, Tennessee. The job is at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • 2+ years experience working as a butcher The role involves: • Vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Season and marinate meat on request Full-time with occasional weekends.
