Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Barbour County, Alabama. You will strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion. Requirements: • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight Rotating shifts. Meals and transport allowance provided. $5,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
