Now hiring: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Pend Oreille County, Washington. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. You should have: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Day to day you will weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing.
