Tree and shrub pruner • Montgomery County, Virginia

Great opportunity: we are hiring a tree and shrub pruner in Montgomery County, Virginia. You will work in a public park. The role involves: • Rake up fallen leaves, grass clippings and garden waste • Water beds and lawns and set up drip irrigation lines • Apply fertiliser, compost and mulch to beds • Mow and edge lawns with petrol and ride-on mowers • Spray pesticides and fungicides to control pests and disease • Dig over and turn the soil and prepare seedbeds Ideal candidate: • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting • An eye for detail and a tidy, well-kept finish Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
