Urgent requirement: we are hiring a panel welder in Columbia County, Oregon. You will work at an automobile body shop. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work shifts and overtime • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test Day-to-day duties: • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Control distortion with a balanced welding sequence • Change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing Pay around $4,500 per month, based on your experience.
