Port container crane operator • Isabella County, Michigan

Immediate opening: we are hiring a port container crane operator in Isabella County, Michigan. You will work on a bridge and infrastructure project. Day-to-day duties: • Park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift • Grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity • Fit the counterweights and check the ground bearing pressure • Climb and inspect the tower crane mast and tie-ins • Help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone Ideal candidate: • Able to read load charts and lifting plans • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Understanding of hand and radio signals Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
