Ladle pourer wanted in Juneau City and Borough

Immediate opening: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Juneau City and Borough, Alaska. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal You will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Performance bonus on top of base pay. We offer $3,100 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
